Was lucky enough to stay at the Pinehurst resort in Nov 2006 and play Nos - 2,3,4, and 8 - quite simply the experience of a lifetime. The hospitality and friendliness of all the staff is second to none and the golf courses truly magnificent. No4 is absolutely beautiful, some of the holes take the breath away. No2 is all about history and those greens, to be able to hold them from any distance spin is essential (not my strong point). Some of the putts really need careful thought as a 6ft putt could leave you 30 or more away - not for the faint hearted. At the end of my round I on No 2 I felt both drained and elated but also sad that such an experience had come to an end. Would recommend that anyone thinking of playing No2 should play one of the others first to get some idea of the green (it still won't prepare you fully!). What an experience - maybe one day I'll get back and play 1, 5, 6 & 7, and of course number 2 again - everhopeful.
