Most people who play here are likely to be on holiday, so it is an easy course to like because of the atmosphere. The course is relatively flat and not that tough to play even during a first visit. There are a number of memorable holes especially in the middle of the front 9 and the crashing of the Atlantic at this point adds to the drama. I think I am right in saying that the ownership has changed recently and the need to improve parts of the course has been recognised. The greens at the moment do not appear to have the correct grass and are very slow – this along with making the bunkering a stronger feature must be priorities. The 18th hole (Par-5 with a lake to the right of the second part of the fairway) is probably the pick of the holes. The course is worth playing but as yet do not expect to be blown away. NB – The clubhouse is a wonderful building and has a brilliant international feel to it.
