Review for Pollok

Reviewer Score:

The most overrated golf course in the region. I have now idea why this course was ever elected to host professional events as it is so un-awe-inspiring and bland the temptation is just to switch off mid round. A distinct lack of elevation change on every hole except the last. The condition of the course is nothing short of immaculate with the tee boxes being among the tidiest I have encountered. However, there is very little on offer to justify the weighty green fees. Very surprising that there is no midsummer twilight offers given the city centre location. The stuffy clubhouse atmosphere and general aloof attitude of some of the members did not emit a welcoming embrace to visitors. I left with the impression that this is an old school members only sort of place and that it is quite comfortable wearing such a tag. For me this is a one off round just to say that I have played a Mackenzie course.
