When a new course neighbours an already established club comparisons will always be made. The Golf Links can be proud of its standing in the Portmarnock area. As a collection of 18 holes this is not as tough as the Old course but there are some holes that are as good - for me only the first three holes are slightly weak but all in all this course is a cracker. Plenty of 'proper' links holes that wind left then right in and around the dunes and the closing strech is memorable (loved driving up the 16th). The welcome around the clubhouse, pro shop and bars is a huge plus factor - nice part of the world is Dublin's east coast - do not miss the chance to play here.
