Pradera Verde
Situated 60 kilometers northwest of downtown Manila (though it’s a 2-hour drive to get there via San Fernando), Pradera Verde Villas is an ambitious residential development within an enormous 1200-acre site that’s anchored by a 27-hole Golf & Country Club.
Fashioned by businessman Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda, the project also features a “wake park” for water sport events and there are further plans in place to create an amusement park, racing circuit and a runway for a flying club.
It’s a largely level site so several big lakes were constructed to provide fill for shaping the fairways on the golf course. Holes 1-18 occupy ground to the north of the clubhouse, with holes 19-27 set out on the south side of this massive building.
Water hazards appear at half the holes on the main layout, with aquatic challenge on six of the front nine holes. There are only three holes on the back nine where water comes directly into play and two of them – the par three 15th and par five 18th – feature island greens.
