The 18-hole layout at Prague City Golf is a Jeremy Ford design, with assistance from Alex Čejka, but the people deserving an equal portion of credit for the finished product are legendary shaper Mick McShane – who has worked on quite a few high profile project such as the Castle course at St Andrews – and the German construction company Engelmann.

The 18-hole layout lies on the floodplain of the Berounka River so five large lakes were excavated to raise the fairways and provide fill for contouring. The front nine holes are devoid of aquatic challenge but all that changes on the back nine with several fairways routed around large expanses of water.
Extending to 6,556 metres from the back tees, the course plays to a par of 72, with holes laid out as two returning nines. Highlights on the outward half include the par three 3rd (with a long sandy waste area to the front right of the green) and the slightly left veering par five 7th (rated stroke index 1).
On the shorter inward half, the par five 13th and par four 14th are routed around either side of a lake (with the latter hole featuring a long, narrow beach bunker between the fairway and the water as the hole turns right towards the green).

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
