There is something really special about courses like this. You wouldn't build a course like this now, and yet there is hardly a thing wrong with Prestwick. The blind shots of 6 and 17, the bunkers in the middle of fairways, the railway line along the first, the seemingly impossible to miss tenth fairway - I did - and the last, which like the Old Course and North Berwick is bunkerless, short and yet with the clubhouse backdrop, very special.Afterwards have a drink in the clubhouse and look at the history. It is a free museum to golf. This is a course to come back to, regardless of the weather, every chance you get. If you don't enjoy Prestwick you should give up golf.
