Priddis Greens (Hawk)
Priddis Greens was incorporated as a golfing society in 1983 and over the next twenty years the club rolled out four 9-hole courses, eventually forming two 18-hole layouts, the Raven and the Hawk.
The first 9-hole circuit at Priddis Greens (the back nine of today’s Raven) opened in 1985, joined by the front nine of the Hawk the following year. The Raven course was completed in 1992 and this 27-hole complex was in use when the LPGA Tour visited for the ladies du Maurier event in 1999, a competition won by Karie Webb.
All 18 holes on the Hawk were in play soon after in 2003, providing members with two 18-hole championship courses.
Fast forward six years to 2009 and the top national tournament for professional ladies returned to Priddis Greens with Suzann Pettersen claiming the Canadian Women’s Open title. The competition course consisted of holes 1-5 and 15-18 from the Hawk for the front nine and holes 10-18 on the Raven for the back nine.
Located within an hour’s drive to the south west of Calgary, the Priddis Greens’ courses are set in mature forests within the rolling foothills of the Rockies in an area of outstanding natural beauty. In such an environment, it’s easy to see why the national governing body has chosen such a progressive club to showcase all that’s best in modern Canadian golf.
