Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club

Opened for play in 1992, the Karl Litten designed Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club (formerly Provo Golf Club) in the Grace Bay area of Providenciales is, according to the club, “a secret worth discovering,” and it’s a hidden gem becoming ever harder to conceal as an increasing number of intrepid golfers discover its charms.

The layout of this green oasis is very natural and rugged – routed as it is through natural outcrops of limestone – and it adopts a minimalistic approach to the number of sand hazards on the course with only around 30 bunkers and waste areas on the property.

Don’t stray too far from the lush fairways, though, as there are over 2,500 palm trees to penalise wayward shots and with water forming the main defence here – half a dozen holes on both the front and the back nine have freshwater lakes coming into play – Royal Turks & Caicos offers more than just a run-of-the-mill resort golf course experience.
