Venue for five editions of the Mallorca Classic on the European Tour between 2003 and 2007, Pula wasn’t always a championship standard venue – certainly not in the eyes of José María Olazábal, who told the owner in no uncertain terms shortly after it opened in 1995 that the course simply wasn’t good enough.
