Having played 15 of the island’s 23 tracks overall and Puntiró four times over the last two years, I can comfortably say that this course is the course I most like to return to! Of course, Son Guál and Alcanada are better tracks, but Puntiró offers me the fun of firm and fast conditions more often than any other course on the island. I have now learnt that this is partly down to not overseeding their Bermuda grass in winter, but also watering more sparingly. This means fewer “bad hair days” than other Mallorcan courses, but also less of the lush green optics. I am actually quite grateful as this turns off quite a few tourists looking for soft green carpet, resort style. The course is often much less busy in the afternoon if you fancy a round at a faster pace.
