The South course is one of the ‘big’ courses in the area and one of my personal choices when I am in the Algarve. The course has always been a quality venue (Portuguese Opens have been held here) but this year the course looks even better, especially the greens. The fairways are more defined and the different cuts of rough have been emphasised to enhance the look of the holes. This course in peak season is extremely busy, but in no-way does it look overplayed. Golf at Quinta do Lago can certainly be called ‘holiday golf’ but do not think there is any distraction from a great course, with great holes. I am still waiting to par the 15th (200 yard par-3 over water), guess I’ll have to come back next year and try again! The après golf around the complex and the clubhouses has a relaxed but quality atmosphere.
