RACV Goldfields

Designed by Tony Cashmore, the 18-hole layout at RACV Goldfields lies just a short drive north of Ballarat. Opened for play in 2015, this is a resort course where regular elevation changes put a premium on correct club selection.

Set amongst 150 acres of undulating bushland, the course features tree-lined fairways that follow the flow of the land, using ridges, swales and other natural elements to create a golf test that’s both visually and strategically strong.

Measuring 6,200 metres from the back plates, the course plays to a par of 72, with holes arranged as two returning nines. Water comes into play at three of the last four holes on the back nine, most noticeably next to the green at the par four 15th.

Other highlights include the left doglegging short par four 7th; the heavily sand-protected par three 8th; and the tough par four closing hole which plays to a home green protected by three bunkers and a small pond to the front right of the putting surface.
