Architect Lassi Tilander renovated the golf facility at Rae Golf in 2019, fashioning a new home hole and remodelling the 9th green as well as adding two practice greens, a short game area and driving range.

The main layout at the club now extends to 6,210 metes from the back tees, playing to a par of 72, with holes arranged as two returning nines. Water hazards proliferate on more than half the holes, culminating in the new par three 18th which plays to an island green.

Highlights on the front nine include the par four 3rd (with out of bounds on the right and a couple of ponds on the left); the slightly right doglegging long par four 8th (rated stroke index 1); and the par five 9th which requires an aerial approach to a peninsula green.

On the back nine, the 370-metre 14th is a demanding par four, veering right from tee to green, but the best is kept until last in the 3-hole compartment to the south of the property, with the 155-metre home hole demanding a precise tee shot to a green that’s surrounded by water.
