Real La Barganiza

Real Club de Golf La Barganiza first registered with the Spanish Golf Federation in 1982. The club’s original 9-hole layout – designed by Víctor García de la Cruz – was later extended to its present 18-hole configuration by Javier Núñez Martínez.

Today, the course stretches to 5,607 metres from the back markers, playing to a par of 70 (35 out then 35 in), with holes arranged as two returning nines. Water threatens only once, at the par four 13th, where a pond lurks to the front left of the green.

Other holes of note include the very short par three 8th (a hedge runs along out of bounds on the left); the very narrow downhill par four 15th (a good birdie chance with a stroke index of 18); and the only par five on the back nine at the 472-metre 17th.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
