Real Pineda
Founded as an equestrian club by a group of Army officers in the 1940s, Real Club Pineda occupies a 200-acre site on the south side of Seville, with members enjoying a wide range of sports that include (in addition to golf and equine activities) tennis, swimming, and for the more genteel socios, croquet.
The original 9-hole course was expanded to eighteen holes by Jose Luís Bastarreche in 1992 then the layout was renovated in more recent times by GTM Golf, the company that built Gil Hanse’s course at Trump International in Dubai. It’s laid out on generally flat terrain, with fairways separated by a combination of stone pine and palm trees.
The club’s racecourse, which is the only private track operating within the country, is actually crossed by a couple of holes during a round on the golf course, so you can be sure that a game here is guaranteed to provide one of the most unique golfing experiences you’ll encounter anywhere in Spain.
The club’s visitor policy has changed recently and casual play by non-members is now permitted.
