Played Oct 2014. I am a single figure handicap golfer and Ria Bintan is the best course to play of the courses in Bintan. The Ocean course is very well maintained. It is not an overly long course but it does make you think and use strategy off the tee. Holes 7, 8 and 9 are all excellent holes right along the ocean's edge. Hole 17 is a spectacular and well designed par 3. The course is a real test at 6,400m off the blacks or 6,000m off the blues. The Forest nine holes is a bit weaker. While well maintained, it is only 2700m long and you end up hitting wedges into many of the holes. I also played Bintan Lagoon (Nicklaus and Baker-Finch courses) and both were in terrible condition with many bare patches on the greens and fairways. Ria Bintan is highly recommended.
