Golf Rigenée was founded in 1981 and two years later there were eighteen holes in play across a former agricultural property of 135 acres. During 1984 and 1985 more than 30,000 trees were planted to help give definition to the fairways and partially screen the outside world along the perimeter of the property. Holes 9 and 11 were renovated in 2006 then the 13th was extensively remodelled eight years later.

Designed by Paul Rolin, the course is laid out on fairly flat terrain and it extends to a total length of 6,402 metres from the back markers with par set at 73 (36 out then 37 in). Water comes into play at only a few holes, most notably in front of the green at the 178-metre 7th and to the left of the putting surface at the 163-metre 14th.

Highlights here include the opening sequence of four par fours; the first of five par fives with out of bounds to the right on the 502-metre 5th; the tough, left doglegging par four 10th at the furthest point from the clubhouse; back-to back par fives at holes 15 and 16; and the unusual closing par three 18th which plays uphill to the home green.
