Roda Golf Resort

Located less than three miles from Murcia-San Javier airport, the lush fairways at Roda Golf & Beach Resort are routed around large swathes of “dry buffer areas” with acres of Mediterranean shrubs and hundreds of planted trees adding definition and character to each and every hole.

As you might expect on a modern course, the greens – averaging just under 11,000 square metres in size – were constructed to USGA standard by architect Dave Thomas so golfers are advised to have their putting skills in good order before venturing onto the slick putting surfaces here.

The signature hole at Roda is regarded as the 174-metre 7th, requiring a do-or-die tee shot to an island green. That’s not the only aquatic challenge on the course, though, because holes 12, 13, 16 and 18 on the back nine all play to greens protected in some shape or form by water hazards.
