Rosapenna Golf Resort (Old Tom Morris)

I loved the Old Tom Morris course at Rosapenna, which wasn't altogether surprising as I have a deep affinity for classic architecture.

Location, location, location.

A fascinating links course of two halves.

The course has less undulation than its onsite brethren, but nonetheless it is a super playable, fair links golf course.

Certainly, two distinctly different 9s as many have written.

Having played the previous configuration of "links front nine and hill second nine" in 2004, and not really caring for the latter, I was very pleased with the new nine links holes currently playing as the front nine at Old Tom Morris.

The oldest course at Rosapenna, with its links back to the Father of Modern Golf, Old Tom Morris, from the 19th Century was the most fun one to play.

After playing the Old Tom Morris course a second time, I decided that Rosapenna Hotel and Golf Resort deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Trump Turnberry and Gleneagles.

Favourite Links course in Ireland.

One certainly needs a scorecard to figure out all the modifications carried out over the years.
