Rosemère

Located half an hour’s drive northwest of downtown Montréal, the fairways of Club De Golf Rosemère (formerly Club de golf Le Fontaineblue) are set out on a rolling, wooded landscape where the final three water-laden holes provide a thrilling finish to the round.

Holes are laid out as two returning nines inside a residential development – with houses flanking both sides of the fairway on the front nine – but a dense line of trees border every hole, keeping the outside world at bay.

The opening hole swings left towards a shallow green that’s protected by water and sand to the left with a bail out area to the right of the putting surface. It’s a gentle enough introduction to the course but it’s one that could easily result in a high number marked on the scorecard.

The 5th and 6th are the next highlight holes as both the greens are situated on either side of an irregularly-shaped water feature. The approach for the par five 5th and tee shot for the par three 6th have to carry this little pond, putting extra pressure on both of these shots.

The par five 10th hole plays to a green that sits behind the dual protection of water and sand, so it’s a strong hole to begin the back nine – only the brave of heart will attempt to cut the corner of the lake and go for the green with their second shot.

The last three holes encircle the same body of water, starting with a short par four at the 16th which doglegs left to a lakeside green. The par three 17th then plays to another peninsula green before the tough par four 18th completes this aquatic triangle on the south side of the lake.
