This is a big, demanding golf course with wide and open fairways and large greens. The greens have a lot of interest and character. There are fewer multi-level greens than you usually see on the TRJ trail courses, and I thought these were the best set of green complexes of the several courses I played on a recent trip to the TRJ trail. I thought the holes had a lot of interest. The design occupied the hilly terrain very well and the uphill and downhill holes were very balanced. To be honest, the course reminded me more of a good Tom Fazio designs than anything else I could describe. The fairway bunkers were well placed and acted as guides to force you to the better line to the green. Water was in play on a number of holes, but there was always a reasonable amount of room to play towards. I have played a number of the RTJ trail courses, and this course was clearly the best I had played. This course is worth a trip to the Birmingham area and worth playing.
