Royal Colombo Golf Club was founded in 1879, achieving its royal title from King George V in 1928. The club moved to its present location in 1896 when Sir Joseph West Ridgeway gifted a sufficient acreage of farmland for the use of the members.

Nice old course in great shape wasn't expecting much as the reviews all seemed a bit negative but much better than other city centre courses , not overly noisy , yes the railway line running through is a bit quirky but it only ran once in the 4 hours we were playing, most holes felt longer due to lack of run on fairways, the greens were the best we played in Sri Lanka , however most holes relatively straight forward, they are in the process of changing 2-3 holes on back 9 to eradicate the crazy 1st and 18th cross over where you basically play towards each other.

Played this course in February, the course itself is ok, pretty unique with train tracks through middle of course.
