Review:

This is a must-play course. I would say that the first 15 holes are the best 15 that I have played. The last three, being on flatter terrain, are good holes but not in keeping with the others. This and RCD are the two best (Muirfield 3rd) and I wouldn't like to choose between the two. Turnberry is a country mile away. Every hole is a real test. The undulating land is just marvellous for golf. Few bunkers as they are not needed. Holes 4-8 are awesome so are 11-15 (those nine holes would the best 9 in the world). I used to be a big fan of Scottish golf but Ireland has better land and this being the best of the lot. We played it in very strong winds but it inspired to play well and the 30 pts I scored was arguably my greatest ever golfing achievement!
