Rushmore Golf Club

I really enjoyed my round at Rushmore Golf Club.

Rushmore, a quaint parkland course set within a large country estate on the Dorset/Wiltshire border, is at times superb, yet at times frustrating.

A first visit to Rushmore followed a very wet spell and I have to say the course stood up pretty well although the greens were very soft.

Rushmore golf course is located about 15 miles to the west of Salisbury high up on the chalk of Cranborne Chase in a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’, and is a large park filled with magnificent oak, beech and tall pine trees and a huge variety of ground flora.

Many of us play golf to get away from the noise and bustle of everyday life (though of course most of us drive to our hoped for tranquillity).

My first visit to Rushmore - a lovely early summer morning looking at a course for the first time, always a treat.
