Bounded to the north by the Sabie River, the course at the Sabi River Sun Resort lies an hour’s drive north of Mbomela. This is game country so expect to find hippos and crocodiles residing in the lake next to the 14th and 15th holes.

Located north of Hazyview, on the way to the forestry town of Sabie, the course at the Sabi River Sun resort (formerly known as Sabie River Bungalows Golf Club) is one of only four 18-hole layouts that you’ll find in the beautiful Mmpumalanga lowveld.

Water plays a big part in the strategy here and it’s present in one form or another on all but four of the eighteen holes in play. Apart from the river, several man-made dams provide further aquatic challenge – and don’t be surprised if you see hippos and a crocodile basking in the water next to the 14th and 15th!

The course extends to 5,534 metres from the back tees, with holes arranged as two returning nines. Highlights include the two water-laden short holes on the front nine at the 2nd and 4th, along with the right doglegging par four 17th, where the green sits on the other side of a long lake.
