Sahara is now the only grassed course in Kuwait.
Now that the 'International' course down in the south of the country has had its water turned off, this leaves Kuwait as the only option for grass golf in the small desert nation. Location inside the racetrack limits options for the routing but it's okay; as long as you come expecting the compromise. Weather was pleasant in winter time although the tees and greens were a little patchy in places and pitch marks were more obvious - I guess it takes them longer to recover.
Most of the course is actually a large waste bunker of sand and it frames each hole. The holes that use water (three lakes on the course - blackish and pungent water) are very much one dimensional so the waste bunker holes were probably more enjoyable to play.
Closing three holes are further compromised, being wedged into a corner piece of land next to the fully netted driving range.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
