Review:

We played here 11 years ago and it was lovely to return for afew days. St Endreol has elevations , climbs and slopes and some wonderful views of surrounding Provence countryside. Its a good walk ! and it can be hot ! You play in isolation with no nearby properties. Considering the terrain the course is an architectural success . No two holes are the same and the conditioning is good, with excellent greens. The course is laid out in 2 loops , the front 9 to the left of the clubhouse and the back 9 to the right. The par 4’s on the front are not long but require precision to keep the ball in play. There are 2 good par 3’s , the 6th at over 200 yards to a back pin feels. narrow from the T and has a long narrow green with drop off to the right with a bunker along its entire length, and banking to the left with trees . The 8th is around 170 yards slightly uphill with drop off at the front and sides and frequently plays against the breeze. The 9th is the longest of four par 5’s at a fraction over 550 yards, dogleg to the right with an elevated green for the approach. and returns you to the clubhouse. The back nine , flows beautifully and the holes by the river are special (12-15). 13 is perhaps the signature hole par 3 and is very elevated from the T and plays over water to the green. 190-200 yards which without wind plays around 40 yards shorter than the yardage . 14 (par 5) and 15 (par4) play alongside the river , are good holes which apparently can flood in winter. 17 (425 yds) is uphill all the way and plays much longer than its length and 18 (382 yds) is a good par 4 finishing hole with an elevated green just below the clubhouse for the approach. The course plays from the white tees at its longest (5800m) , sadly the black back Tees have not been maintained and are in a state of disrepair. Currently Provence is in a heat wave with 35c + in May and has imposed watering restrictions for gardens , and limited times for golf courses to water which probably explains the longterm neglect of the back Tees when few play from them .

Staff in the clubhouse are very friendly as are the locals and the restaurant is excellent. All in all a lovely isolated place to play golf
