Sakabula

Situated in the foothills of the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands outside Howick, less than half an hour’s drive northwest of Pietermaritzburg, the course at Sakabula Golf & Country Estate lies just off the N3 highway within a country escape that offers panoramic views of the Drakensburg and surrounding mountains.

Playing to a par of 73, the 18-hole layout is set out as a pair of contrasting nines: the first half traversing a valley while the second half occupies flatter ground with wetland areas and little lakes – it’s not often you get to play two entirely different 9-hole layouts at the one location such as this.

Feature holes include back-to-back par fives at holes 4 and 5 on the longer front nine, along with back-to-back par threes on the back nine at the 14th and 15th ,which both play around the same triangular-shaped irrigation dam in the northern part of the property.
