Salem
One of the more recent clubs in the Stockholm region, Salems Golfklubb was founded in 1988. It took seven years before its first 9 holes would be available to play on the Hogantorp farm. In 1996, the club had been expanded to 18 holes, and nine more (Hogantorps) was added in 2003.
Today this is the principal Salemsbanen course is just under 6,600 metres from the rear tees and plays to an average of 71 par with holes that are laid out as two return nines. Water hazards determine the playing strategy for a number of holes, particularly between the fairways with parallels on holes #6 and #8, and in the four-par holes on #15 and #18.
Some of the best holes to play include par 5, 1st (where an ephemeral pond encircles the left side on the left side of the green) as well as the right doglegging 9th hole, a par four (which is extremely birdie-friendly in the event that you stay clear of the numerous greenside traps of sand) as well as the difficult 335-meter closing hole, which has an eddy just to the right of the fairway as well as fountained ponds to the to the left and at the back of the green that is home to.
