Sand Hollow Resort (Championship)

The course is surrounded by stunning links-like terrain in stunning surroundings with 27 holes, the Sand Hollow resort facility - featuring its stunning 18-hole Championship course, which is complemented by a wonderful nine-hole Links design - built entirely of red sand by the architect John Fought.

The Championship layout stretches for nearly 7,300 yards. Golfers are getting stunning panoramas of the landscape around them from the outcrops of red rock that abound throughout along the nine's front. Announcing elevation changes along a dramatic ridge line rule the second nine resulting in immediate requests for repeat play from a lot of players who play this course to play for the very first time.

Golfers who visit the course should be aware they must use carts is mandatory at the Championship course.

The Head of the Professional Adam Jasperson kindly provided us with the following feedback:

"Our scorecard has been evaluated according to the USGA and indicates holes 6 and 18 are toughest, but according to me, hole 18 may be the most difficult because of a variety of reasons. It's often the last hole in the round, and it's often after a four-hour long grind that you make the final tee shot on the par four uphill. The fairway is adorned with bunkers ranging from 250-280 yards and 230-260 yards, which are located in the landing zones for a variety of players. The green is surrounded by four bunkers, and the putt-making surface isn't visible from the fairway. Therefore, this hole is a test of your mental and physical abilities.

The hole 15 is without doubt our most famous hole, dubbed "Devil's Throat". It has eleven tee boxes that allow shots between 160 and 245 yards downhill, which leads to this two-tiered green. Its right edge is guarded by knee-high grasses and bunkers and a cliff runs along the left side. It is known to eat any errant tee shot with ease. Being at such a late stage on the course, a huge amount of players on this hole can ruin a great score on the medal or an extremely tight match play against your opponent."
