Sandpiper
Located in former gold mining and fur trading territory to the east of Vancouver, within “The Great Outside” as it’s marketed these days, the Sandpiper course is a Russ Olsen design that lies on the northern shores of the mighty Fraser River.
Fairways were carved through woodland on a relatively flat property with many of these doglegged holes designed to take advantage of the impressive mountain and river views and it truly is a spectacular place to play golf.
The course boasts a fine set of par threes – at holes 3, 7, 12 and 16 – that vary in length between 127 yards and 222 yards, though the best hole on the card is considered to be the 486-yard par 15th, where a creek bisects the fairway and the putting surface is protected by more water to the front left and back right of the green.
