Santa Marina
San Vicente de la Barquera, Cantabria- AddressGolf Santa Marina, Plaza Poligono Sta. Marina, 39547 San Vicente de la Barquera, Cantabria, Spain
The course at Golf Santa Marina is a new millennium design from Seve Ballesteros, with holes routed across undulating terrain between the villages of La Revilla and El Tejo on the northern coast of Cantabria.
Located in the hills above the small coastal town of Sainte Vincente de Barquera, the course extends to just over 5,800 metres from the back tees, playing to a par of 71 (35 out, 36 in).
Holes are arranged as two returning 9-hole circuits – the front nine is named the Ramón Sota course and the back nine is called the Severiano Ballesteros course – with three short holes on each nine.
Highlights include the downhill, right doglegging par four 2nd and the very narrow par four 14th, played to a raised green with severe falls off to the front and sides of the putting surface.
The par five 9th and par three 18th finish on either side of a small lake in front of the clubhouse, bringing both the outward and inward half to a potentially watery conclusion.
