Built in a valley with a big variety of terrain São Fernando offers players a wide range of challenges that make this course one of the best in the country. Over the last few years lakes have been widened allowing the course to sustain its impeccable turf conditions, even in the summer season when rain is a big factor. Newcomers should be aware that the routing starts with a bang with the second and third holes among the hardest on the course. Maybe on the fourth tee you will be feeling that you probably should have spent another ten minutes at the range but relax because you will be able to catch your breath on the next four holes. My favorite part of the course would be the second nine where a mix of water and rolling greens will reward the players with better ball control but will not severely penalize the rest of us mortals. Ending with a drivable par 4 is not common but I think it makes sense to give an easy way out after a challenging day at this great golf course. São Fernando is not very long but don´t let this 6548 yards par 71 fool you, it is going to be a challenge to score here but the course layout is both fair and hard and fair is what I love about this course.
