Schloss Myllendonk
A mid-1960s Donald Harradine design, the course at Golfclub Schloss Myllendonk was renovated in recent years by Christoph Städler, resulting in the upgrading of tees, fairways and greens, along with the introduction of two new holes.
Located on a 120-acre property just outside the city limits of Möchengladbach, the course is set out on a rather flat landscape that’s crossed by numerous drainage ditches so it’s an easy walking track with tree-lined fairways routed around the impressive Myllendonk castle.
The Städler upgrade in 2010 involved replacing a couple of weak par threes (the old #10 and #13) with two new holes (#12 and #13) on new ground to the southeast of the existing course. The par five 15th was also shortened to a par four, allowing space to improve the practice area.
Extending to just over 6,000 metres from the back markers, the layout now plays to a par of 72, starting and finishing with a par five. Highlight holes include the left doglegging long par four 7th (rated stroke index 1) and the last of the par threes at the 17th.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
