Sct. Knuds
Before you cross the bridge between Fuen and Sealand – one of the longest suspension bridges in the world – you drive past Sct. Knuds Golf Club. The course is a neighbour to the old ferry harbour but now the ferries are replaced by the bridge and a tunnel.
The front nine is routed mainly at the northern part of the property, in close proximity to the motorway. At the 5th hole, the course narrows, becoming tree-lined and then the back nine heads south, closer to the sea. The best hole on the course is the 16th, a par five that bends left along the beach. Any shot hit left on this hole will leave your ball stranded on the beach. The 16th was awarded the accolade “the most beautiful hole in Denmark”.
In the Puegeot Golf Guide, hazards on the course are described as “classical and typically British in the form of trees (sometimes very much in play) and the standard bunkers. All this gives a very open course, which hides none of its difficulties. For the more demanding player, though, it probably lacks a little technical subtlety. With that said, you will have fun golfing here with all the family or with friends.”
