The project resulted in significant improvements to the course’s grasses, bunkers, tees and cart paths, while retaining the original Joe Lee design. Celebration grass was added to the fairways and TIF Eagle grass was introduced on the greens. All the bunkers were upgraded, with new G-Angle sand brought into use. New cart paths were also installed.
Today, the course extends to 6,711 yards from the back markers, with par set at 72. Holes are arranged as two returning nines and water comes into play at half the holes on the card, particularly on the back nine. Highlights here include the short par four 4th, the long and difficult par five 9th, and the very short, water-laden par three 17th.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
