Seaton Carew Golf Club (Micklem)

Never judge a book by its cover and for me Seaton Carew falls in to that category.

A quick pit stop in to the bar to put my phone on charge and I bolted to the first tee to meet my hosts.

Played the couirse many times over the years.

An excellent British links course.

The Micklem course at Seaton Carew is a strong test of golf and fully justifies its high ranking in England.

The course is an absolute gem, just my cup of tea, rugged, true links, with the focus on golf.

On the trip just completed where I played several of England’s finest the two “surprises” were Ipswich Purdis Heath and Seaton Carew.

This club is celebrating 150 years next year and it feels very unchanged in the way its laid out.

Seaton Carew offers classic raw links at its best.
