Sewailo

There are a number of Native American resorts across Arizona that host quality golf clubs for their patrons. The Sewailo Golf Club at Casino Del Sol stands out for having hired Notah Begay III, a Navajo/Pueblo and former PGA player, to design its layout. Begay worked alongside former Robert Trent Jones II associate Ty Butler to create a route well-stocked with risk-reward options.

Enjoy a drink at the turn because you’re about to begin perhaps the toughest two-hole stretch in the state. The No. 10 hole measures an eye-watering 640 yards from the tips, featuring a lake that contends with the tee shot, a forced creek carry midway, bunkers guarding all the corners at this double dogleg, and finally an approach into a tight hour-glass-shaped green that is squashed by bunkers at the hips.

In case you weren’t already sweating from the Arizona sun, the following par four comes in at 504 yards, and features an angled tee shot to a fairway set up above a deep, sandy wash. Typically casino guests plan to lose their shirts at the tables, but these two holes alone will offer ample opportunity.
