Shanghai Qizhong Garden
The 18-hole layout at Shanghai Qizhong Garden Golf Club is a Dana Fry collaboration with local designer Jun Lu which opened for member play in 2013.
Fry used his experience working at Calusa Pines in Florida at the start of the new millennium to transform a similar, naturally flat site by creating several large lakes then using around a million cubic metres of fill to fashion contours around the property.
Consequently, more than half the holes have water in play, with six thousand trees planted to add definition to the layout as they mature.
The club hosted the Buick LPGA Shanghai tournament on the LPGA Tour in 2018 when Danielle Kang won her second career event by two strokes from seven other players. A year later, she returned for a repeat victory.
