Shuswap National
Salmon Arm, British Columbia- Address6015 Shaw Rd, Salmon Arm, BC V1E 2W2, Canada
Originally opened in 2008 as Canoe Creek Golf Course, this 18-hole Salmon Arm layout was designed by 2-time PGA Tour winner Dave Barr, who lives in nearby Westbank.
A decade after the course was unveiled, the business changed hands, with Mike and Sean Foss taking over as the new owners.
Today, the par-72 course can be stretched to just over 7,000 yards from the back markers, with holes laid out in two returning nines.
Water only ever comes into play at one hole on the layout, at the par three 3rd, where a rather attractive waterfall flows from the tee to a pond beside the green.
The severely doglegged 5th is another interesting hole on the front nine, featuring three “church pews” bunkers positioned on the inside of the fairway as it veers left towards the green.
On the back nine, the par four 14th is a tough hole, rated stroke index 2, bending at right angles from tee to green, with a rock-strewn creek cutting across in front of the green.
