Set out on the southern shores of Skanderborg Lake, the course at Skanderborg Golf Klub is one of Denmark's most beautiful. It’s a little hilly in parts but the views of the surrounding landscape from the upper-lying holes are simply stunning.

The initial nines holes were laid out by Frederik Dreyer and opened for play in 1991. Another nine holes were added in 1999 by Michael Traasdahl Møller to complete the inaugural 18-hole layout. A decade later, new par four holes were introduced at the 1st and 15th to instigate the layout that remains in operation today.

Stretching to 5,402 metres from the back tees, the course at Skanderborg plays to a par of 69 (34 out then 35 back) with only two par fives on the card at the 474-metre 2nd and 463-metre 10th. Highlight holes include the first of the five par threes at the 147-metre 4th (where a small water course crosses in front of the green) and the left doglegging par four 16th, rated stroke index 2.
