Sky 72 (Hanul)

The Sky 72 nametag indicates the number of holes that are available at one of South Korea’s largest golf facilities.

Located next to Incheon International airport and with its own separate clubhouse, the Hanul course opened for play in 2005 and is one of four 18-hole layouts at the SKY72 Golf & Resort.

Routed over reclaimed land (as is the entire island) plane spotters will enjoy the Hanul’s close proximity to the airport, in fact, Hanul translates to “Sky”, so we guarantee golfers will glance skywards at least once during the round. The layout also takes golfers close to the shallow sea, which no longer divides the formerly separate Yeongjong and Yongyu islands.

Fashioned by local architect Joon-taek Noh and seeded from tee to green in bent grass, the Hanul course may play second fiddle to the resort’s Ocean course, but it’s nevertheless a challenging layout which has been used to host the SK Telecom Open since 2015 on the men’s Korean Tour.
