Established in 1902 with a 9-hole course, Sleaford Golf Club engaged Notts professional Tom Williamson nine years later to advise on expanding the layout to eighteen holes. Apparently, the fee for this was £100 – plus the cost of construction the new greens, of course.

Today, the layout extends to 6,505 yards from the back tees, playing to a par of 72, with holes arranged in an old-fashioned out-and-back manner. It’s thought the newer holes added in 1911 were probably between the current 4th and 13th, most of which lie furthest from the clubhouse.

Highlight holes include the only par three on the front nine at the 179-yard 5th (with two large bunkers positioned close to the front right edge of the green) and the slightly right doglegged par five 14th, rated stroke index 2 on the scorecard.
