Review:

A fine members course, not long, but challenging. The removal of the many trees has made it an even more exciting layout as this has opened up the lines. The opening hole gives you a taste of what is to come, a short par 4 with a severe right dogleg that is capable of being driven by the bigger hitters, but you have to carry a huge bunker. Mistime it and a 5 will come. A more sensible line by shorter hitters sees a par. The course is full of many challenges like this, the timid line off the tee opens up easy bogies ad occasional pars, but few birdies. The more adventurous can take the challenges on, be rewarded when bravery comes off and punished with miscalculation. In many respects, this is the closest one comes to Royal Melbourne outside of the famous sunbelt. The greens are always immaculate, undulating without being silly, and the course is always presentable no matter what time of year. It is a hilly course, but not taxing.Well worth the visit.
