I personally refer to Spyglass Hill as part of the "Triple Crown" of public golf courses, along with Pebble Beach. While Pebble Beach Links is world-famous and considered a bucket-list course that every golfer should play at least once in their lifetime, I find Spyglass Hill to be even more captivating.

The front nine offers an ocean-course experience, with sweeping coastal views that create a truly mesmerizing atmosphere. In contrast, the back nine takes you deep into the forest, where towering trees frame the fairways. The crisp, echoing sound of a well-struck tee shot in this setting is particularly satisfying.

Spyglass Hill has a cozy yet subtly enchanting character, evoking a different kind of emotion compared to Pebble Beach Links. It delivers a quieter, more intimate sense of awe. If I were to visit Pebble Beach again, I’d be perfectly content playing only Spyglass Hill.

One thing to note is that early morning rounds can be challenging due to fog, so I recommend booking a tee time closer to midday for the best experience.
