St Andrews Links (Castle)

Despite being built when DMK designs were making courses that challenged par vs birdie, the Castle Course just might be the second best owned by the St Andrews Links trust.

I have been lucky enough to play many of the iconic courses in the region but the Castle has left a long standing impression and for me it is my favourite.

Although it's course that divides opinion, The Castle Course is more than worthy of its place within the fabric of golf in Fife and around St Andrews.

First of all it was my first golf trip to Saint Andrews and I really wanted to try all golf courses around here.

Of All The courses using the St Andrews Badge this is definitely the most fun, strangely though its also the most un natural as loads of work had to be moved to get this to how it looks today.

Extremely fun.

The Castle Course is quirky but at times unfair when good golf shots are punished (so say my local friends, not me).

Away from the hectic of the town are quirky, unforgettable links with all the quality of the St Andrews brand.

A lot of people bash the Castle for the severity of greens - while the greens here are quite wild as a golf course nerd I don't find them overly goofy.
