St Clair (Championship)
Castle Shannon Golf Club and Mt. Lebanon Country Club merged to form St. Clair Country Club in 1916, though the 27-hole golf course is of more recent vintage, first opening in the mid-1950s, designed by the father and son duo, William and David Gordon.
Keith Foster renovated the layout in 2007 and since then Foster’s protégé, Kevin Hargrave, has been working on tree management and green adjustments for the club. In addition to the 7,000-yard Championship course, the 5,500-yard, 9-hole Terrace course is a nice warm-up before tackling the main event.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
