Review for Stiklestad

Reviewer Score:

Very nice heathland/forest course north of Trondheim. Fairly long at 5900 meters from yellow, penal rough, a fair amount of bunkers and a very nice design makes this a challenging course. For whatever reason I get the same feeling as Atlungstad and Vallda when I play this course, must be the colors I guess, but also a bit of the style. Notable holes. 2,4,6,9,12,13 and 17. I really enjoy the 6th. Par 4 at 380 meters, slight dogleg. First time I played it I hit a cracking drive to the right side of the fairway, and thought I had a good angle to the green, hit my 5 iron a bit thick but should be ok a bit short of the green, and discovered that there was a nice little pond in front of the green (played without a course guide, and my local playing partners didnt mention that wee bit of useful information;). Now I know better. Stiklestad is a bit off the beaten track, but if you should find yourself in the area make sure to include a round there.
