Arguably one of the better courses in Manchester, best known for seemingly always having some of the best greens for a Parkland in the North

After a week of sunshine in Scotland, we were not blessed with the same weather at Stockport on our way home.

I recently returned for my annual pilgrimage to play the course with an old work colleague from the other side of the hill.

Stockport is a lovely place to play a game of golf, with an imaginative routing over undulating ground surrounded by, but never choked by, majestic Scots Pines.

Great course design befits a parcel of land that lends itself beautifully to a golf course.
